![Film from walks around the block & moments in community ♥️ Love our neighborhood.
The last few months, we’ve been recognizing times of convergence, when our past+present+future come together. Our ancestors walking with us wherever we go. This place is strong and so are we.
[Just a reminder that all that rage you feel is love, and love can burn down empires.]❤️🔥

![PHOTO STORY: The Abolition Garden Youth Zine Release! 📷📖
Feeling so much gratitude for this beautiful season and these beautiful people. (and so many more not pictured!) Our youth Zine Release kickback is a wrap!! It was so beautiful to see the youth, their families, and the wider community gathered together to celebrate all of the meaningful work they put into the Rootwork Youth Program over the last few months. ♥️
It has been an honor to water and witness the growth of this passionate group of youth. They have challenged us and themselves, and helped create a safe place where we have learned from one another and the land. They worked together to create this year’s zine, which is a beautiful reflection of their own stories, minds, art, passions, and curiosity. Their work is a statement of [resist]ance & [exist]ence, in a time where our people are under immense pressure from the systems that seek to erase us. We’ve never had to sugarcoat those realities with one another. Instead we move together to create real change for ourselves and future generations. 🌎💫
We couldn’t have created any of this alone. We were supported by an amazing community of friends, neighbors, teachers, youth, and of course, the land. It has been a rough year for many, but punctuated with moments of real joy and hope. Hope cultivated by a community that knows love to be power, and collective care to be one of the sweetest manifestations of love. 💕 🖤The overwhelming feeling of gratitude is more than we can put words to, BUT- thank you to the youth, to our team, our friends, our mentors, our families, our neighbors, to the food[medicine] grown in our garden, to everyone who believes in us and who continues to support and pour into this shared dream, to the Land, and to Creator.
Let’s keep dreaming for a better world! ✊🏾💥🖤

![Whenever it rains, we’ll think of this day ☔️
We’ll be reminded of the way the rain brought us closer. The way community came through and cared for one another. The way we created and connected with each other. The way we carried on and experienced joy in the storm.
Again, words are not enough to express our gratitude to everyone who made this happen and supported us but we will still try. We thank everyone who shared, donated, and supported this fundraiser. We thank our friends and family who helped us with all the tasks leading up and during the event. We thank those who came and those who stayed through the rain with us. We thank community that donated to our raffles and let us borrow supplies. But this event wouldn’t have happened without our youth (past and current cohort) who organized, cooked, created art, and supported us at the fundraiser. More importantly, we thank our youth for being and becoming. Y’all inspire us so much and we are so so proud of each and every one of you! 🥹
Thank you for connecting, caring, and creating with us. Thank you believing in us and growing with us. We do this for us, for the Land, for our ancestors, and for the future generations to come. 🌱

![“Our people have always resisted. Our ancestors fought so that we could live, breathe, grow food, speak our language & tell our stories. Their medicine lives in us. We are not starting from scratch - we are continuing sacred work”.
Thank you Debora for your teachings ❤️ These are words that we all needed to hear and re-member. It is a reminder that the work we do is deeply relational and generational. That the sacred work we, our ancestors, and our descendent will do has always been intertwined. May we continue to resist and share medicine so that we and the generations after could live, breathe, grow food, speak their language & tell their own stories.

![“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow” 🌱 It’s a new growing season here at The Abolition Garden and we thought it would be a good time to re-introduce ourselves to y’all 🤗
The Abolition Garden is a BIPOC-led community farm based around co-creating healing and accessible spaces for people of color, especially young people and people with disabilities, that is rooted in collective intimacy and interdependence with the land and all our relatives. Based in Globeville, Denver on the lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapahoe people as well as 40+ tribes, we are are reimagining and reclaiming the farm as a place of healing, a place of protest, and a place of love.
As an abolitionist org, all that we do is aligned with dismantling white supremacy, settler-colonialism, racism, transphobia, ableism, homophobia, and all the-isms and injustices within ourselves and within our communities. We understand that these systems were never meant to save us and is working the way it was designed. We turn to each other, our community, our imagination, and our collective power to grow new worlds where all flourishing is mutual and reciprocal.
We know these times has been increasingly scary and violent but our people has always shown us that the way to get through all this is TOGETHER. We root ourselves in our community and the culture(s) that shapes us. We root ourselves in radical love and collective liberation. And we grow for resilience. We grow for cultural preservation. We grow for joy. We grow to honor our ancestors. We grow for the future generation. We grow because we believe in tomorrow. And we will continue to grow new worlds while composting the old ones.
Today (and everyday) is a good day to fight the system, will y’all join us?
